what i’m digging in october

If you read my post A Few Words About Barbie, you know that my current work in progress is a custom-made Barbie house; hence, below are some of the items I’m digging in October. I’m blown away by all the creative tutorials I’ve spotted on Pinterest on building miniature midcentury coffee tables to making tiny rolls of toilet paper. I’ve also checked out Etsy for additional dollhouse ideas and Barbie accessories. What I’ve found is too darn adorable not to share.

Can it get any cuter than tiny 1:6 scale shopping bags? I’m going crazy over how perfect these will look sitting on Barbie’s kitchen counter. You can find them here.

wallpaper samples

Don’t know if you’ve heard, but wallpaper is making a comeback. And when all you need is a sample to decorate an entire wall, it’s more affordable than ever. There are so many peel & stick designs I love, it’s hard to make a decision. However the modern designs from this shop and the sweet romantic collection from another favorite store of mine are worth mentioning.

rugs

I have a rug fetish, so I shouldn’t be surprised that I’ve passed this obsession on to Barbie. And despite the budget I’ve given her, she keeps dragging home more awesome little rugs! A few of her favorites are from Tiny Home Goods, Tiny Timber Co, and (the one I’m drooling over) an awesome tiny boucherite rug from Petite Boheme Minis

extras

I just have to share a few final Barbie accessories I came across that are definitely on my wish list. This. Ikea. Cart. Check it out here

And if we’re keeping it real, Barbie has her share of vices, too. These little wine bottles (Party Doll Fashion Shop) and cigarette lighters (Not Mamas Miniatures) cracked me up. Although, I am curious what was going through the artist’s mind the day he decided Barbie needed a cigarette lighter. Hmm… (*WARNING – TASTELESS ADULT HUMOR AHEAD: When my son asked why does Barbie need a lighter, his wife replied, “to light her tiny crack pipe. How do you think she stays so skinny?”)

The biggest compliment is a little share – pin the photo below!
