Reposting this from a previous Thanksgiving. Enjoy!
With my Handmade Christmas challenge, I’ve been focusing on Christmas with a passion this year. But in the midst of untangling lights and digging through decorations, I realized Thanksgiving approached with very little hubbub. So I went with the vibe and kept my turkey day peaceful and simple with this sweet and easy Thanksgiving tablescape.
I planned my menu and made the obligatory trip to the market. Then I turned my attention to the table. What to do this year with items I already have… hmm…
I loved the little paper pumpkins I made in October so much that I decided to transfer them from the chandelier to the table.
Next I brought out a variety of crystal candlesticks. I love grouping together different sizes in one vignette, and they make a fun base for displaying Autumn candles and paper pumpkins. I also brought out a battery-operated string of lights I had bought earlier in the year. At the time I didn’t know how I would use them, only that I found them adorable. The bulbs are encased in small silver mesh globes that remind me of pumpkins. How perfect!
Here’s a photo with the lights turned on.
For a filler, I took my pug for a walk through the neighborhood and scavenged for magnolia leaves and dried hydrangea blooms to pick. Just goes to show you that sometimes a truly beautiful thanksgiving tablescape can be assembled from items you already have at home – coupled with a bit of imagination.
