oh baby, these are too cute for words

Okay, I can deny it no longer. I’m going to be a grandmother. Over-the-top excited about sweet little Liam who is about to join our family… not so thrilled about being called MeeMaw or Gran or Nanu or any other ridiculously overused moniker that conjures up images of matronly beings wearing elastic-waisted pants. Nope. Maybe I’ll change my mind, but for now I’m determined Liam will call me something cool, and I’m feverishly buying up boho baby gifts from Etsy just to convince the world how truly hip I am. This baby will dwell in the height of fashion at my house and hopefully I can convince his parents he should call me Miss Suffolk 1979

As for adorable, modern baby items that are too cute for words, I simply went to my go-to place for original wares – Etsy. And here are a few items that actually made me feel excited about becoming a… you know.

crocheted puppy mobile

I love this little mobile and when I learned that the artist could personalize it, I was even more excited. The owner at Ivory Tree House made it with all beagles with one little black mutt (my son & daughter-in-law have two beagles and one black lab mix.)  Of course, the only thing cuter would be a mobile of pugs, but this one is perfect for Liam!

boho baby gym

I love, love, love this natural pine baby gym with macrame toys made by Poppyseed Play. Of course I bought one for Liam, and I paired it with a sweet baby quilt.

novelty onesies

If the parents are into video games, they’ll love this onesie from Blue Giraffe Apparel.

Of course, my favorite is this soft onesie by Haleighs Handcrafted.

handmade bibs

I’m a sucker for beautiful prints, and these handmade bibs by Owesley stole my heart.

boho baby swing

Made by Sweet Swinging.  What could be cuter?

handmade baby moccasins

Hedgehog moccasins by Bee Cee Booties. Check out other patterns they have as well.

These are just a few boho baby gifts I found on Etsy, and they are too cute for words. They may even help me get excited about becoming a… GRANDMOTHER.

The biggest compliment is a little share – please pin the photo below!

  1. When my first grandgirl came along, I WAS ready for the Grandmother role and decided to let HER pick what I would be called. I am now proudly called Mammaw! You’re going to LOVE being a Grandmother, no matter what name you end up with.

  2. I decided I was too young (at 52) to be called “grandma”, “Grammy”, “granny” or any other grandmotherly name so I told my kids that I wanted to be called Nona. My sister-in-law is called G-ma and my neighbor is Gigi. It’s the one time that you get to pick your own monicker.
