supplies needed:

step 1 – fold paper

For this project, I selected 3 different sheets of craft paper. I don’t know about you, but I love all the beautiful prints available. I cut 2 of the sheets into smaller sizes than the first in order to have different sized bags. Fold each sheet in half.

step 2 – glue bottom & side

After folding, re-open the paper and apply glue to the bottom and side of the inside, as shown in photo below. Any type of glue will work, but I used a hot glue gun. Then re-fold and let glue dry.

Next, fold the top of the bag over, creating a front flap.

step 3 – add closure

Creating the closure is the fun part. I have a huge stash of vintage buttons; selecting ones to compliment the papers is so much fun. I cut a long piece of twine, wrapped it twice around the bag, then laced it through the button. Tie a pretty bow and you’re done! The handmade gift bag is almost as beautiful as the gift inside. I love the rustic touch of a vintage button and twine, and you can be as creative as you’d like. Make it yours.

The biggest compliment is a little share – pin the photo below!
