viewed – hunt for the wilderpeople

Looking for a feel good movie that will get you in the Christmas spirit? The first thing you need to do is TURN OFF THE HALLMARK CHANNEL. The little offbeat film Hunt for the Wilderpeople on Netflix is a must-see. This quirky comedy, based on the book Wild Pork and Watercress by Barry Crump, should be a requirement for every human being. Period.

Is it truly funny? Yes. Just watch the trailer and tell me you aren’t dying. Inspiring? Yes. You’ll find it hard to resist the urge to wear cat sweaters and adopt an orphan. Life changing? Another big, fat YES. This weird little movie will restore your faith in humanity.

Although the storyline of Hunt for the Wilderpeople focuses on the adventures of a teen boy with his less than enthusiastic foster dad, the film draws you in with the endearing character of Bella – the eccentric and free-spirited foster mom. I love her, and I want someone to compose a birthday song for me like the one she sang for Ricky Baker. (Once again, just watch the trailer, and you’ll be singing that tune for days.)
